We love the image of an old good man with a white beard and beautiful blue eyes who possibly can be met in our childhood and usually tells us stories which make us happy.
Or when we cry near a river he appears with a rod in his hand and produces a root from a secret pocket in his clog which gives us incredible power or takes from us something unwanted, a secret fear maybe.
Usually, he didn’t appear like a man or a beautiful fairy but as a small and insignificant weed.
They have roots too in the pockets of the Earth. These weeds don’t have the sumptuous aspect of a Rose or imperial Lilly, sometimes can appear a little aggressive, with thorns, nasty smells, or even chemical allergenic substances which is pinching us a little, or sometimes even they are poisonous.
The human insatiable thirst for knowing searched deeper and the wisest detain old secrets which allow them to help people pure at heart and courageous enough, just as the children are. Maybe they even exist today among us.
They do not necessarily look classical but the important thing is the science they have been keeping.
Or, if you are wise you can find yourself healing. In each of us is a child and a healer too.
As we were passing by a lawn with our car (because this is a real story at all) a great landscape attracted our attention. It was formed by a wild herb very green very luxurious and we didn’t know what it was so…
Even “the ignorance is bliss” because we also didn’t know that it was allergenic so we didn’t “catch it” or find out we are not allergic. Because the Ragwood is “renowned” as a great “provocateur” of allergies, rhinitis, and so on. It was banished and haunted in many places… So because of the “allergic agent”… but maybe the chasers didn’t know or didn’t read in places in which that important fact is described, the most amazing fact is that Its root is treating ANY fear. It is also in Cambridge Dictionary and many other important works about magic and so on.
So we like to play a little “witchery” and bring to those who “beat” the plant to stop doing this, maybe the man can befriend Nature again and let Her do this job which is healing us and ours to love and protect our “brothers”. We are made of the same elements and totally connected with them. We can even thank them and help them in any way possible when we know this. It is necessary not to throw garbage at them maybe. Respect them. Love them.
We also learn something: uncovering the appearance of things we will find much love, also don’t approach this kind of plant if you think you are allergic or the old but wise saying of Goethe, who by the way searched for the very Nature of the plant like the greatest alchemists and healers (he was also one). And he wrote “Faust” teaching us that disinterested love conquers all, also describing all the elements and many secrets in the very nature of things: “When I look for treasures we don’t look in the sky but in the ground”.
